Road Closures: Gaslight Festival 2024:
Due to the annual Gaslight Festival, some roadways will be closed, or traffic interrupted, to accommodate the festivities during the week of September 7th -15th. Listed below are the specifics:
- Gaslight Festival 5k Run/Walk—
- The 5K Run/Walk is on Saturday, September 7th, 2024, and starts/ends at the Jeffersontown City Hall. Watterson Trail from Taylorsville Road to Billtown Road will close at 7:30 AM and remain closed until approximately 10:30 AM.

- Gaslight Festival Parade—
- The parade is on Thursday, September 12th, 2024 at 6:00 PM. Taylorsville Road and Watterson Trail will begin closing at 5:00 PM. Watterson Trail between Taylorsville Road & College Drive will remain closed until approximately 9:00 PM
- Gaslight Festival Staging – Friday, September 13th
- On Friday, September 13th Gaslight Festival vendors will start checking in at the Skyview Park in Bluegrass Commerce Park. This will increase traffic on Watterson Trail.
- Watterson Trail at Old Taylorsville Road will be closed and vendors will be routed from Skyview Park to Ruckriegel Parkway to Taylorsville Road to head into the Gaslight Square.
- Employees leaving Bluegrass Commerce Park should consider taking Plantside Drive or Bluegrass Parkway to exit the business park and avoid delays.
- Gaslight Festival Weekend–
- Watterson Trail & Taylorsville Road will close on Friday, September 13th at 3:00 PM and remain closed until Sunday evening, September 15th. Taylorsville Road will close between Jefferson St. and Neal Drive during the same time. This impacts the area between Jefferson/Taylorsville and Watterson Trail from Billtown Road and Old Taylorsville Road the entire weekend. No thru-car traffic will allowed between Friday, September 13th at 3:00 PM until Sunday, September 15th at approximately 8:00 PM
- Gaslight Festival Car Show—
- The car show will be held on Sunday, September 15th, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Taylorsville Road will be closed at College Drive/Old Six Mile and at Taylorsville Road and Sprowl at 9:00 AM and will remain closed to the square. Taylorsville Road at Sprowl and at Six-Mile will open at approximately 5:00 PM.
Weekend Closures: Friday, September 13th - Sunday, September 15th:
Taylorsville Road from Neal Drive to Jefferson Street, and Watterson Trail from Old Taylorsville Road to Billtown Road will be closed starting at 3:00pm on Friday, September 13th and will reopen on Sunday, September 15th at approximately 8:00pm.
